Description
Soft-close doors are a popular upgrade for Model Y and Model 3. Several generations exist; some require half the car to be disassembled. On Model Y you need them on all 4 doors. Real install time: 2 hours of installation + 4 hours of adjustment (not 15 minutes, as sellers promise).
How to install
- For the rear doors — complete door disassembly (remove the door card, glass, window regulator). For the front doors — you can get to it without removing the glass.
- Striker adjustment is important after installation.
- The micro-lag before opening is a design feature, not a defect.
- Install yourself or with trusted technicians — sloppy work can easily damage the door cards and clips.
Belarus budget
≈ $200–600 for the kit + labor.
