Winter operation of Tesla: full set of issues
Description
In winter a typical bouquet of problems shows up: frozen door handles, frozen charge port, temperature sensor failure, broken charge port latch, suspension creak, fog light condensation.
Solution
- Handles: silicone treatment before frosts, run a card along the gap.
- Temperature sensor from a Hyundai Elantra 18-22 fits 1:1 and costs significantly less than the original.
- If sensors fail often, check the wiring and harness connector: the issue may be in the contact.
- Charge port latch: replacement by part number.
- For battery preconditioning before charging, set navigation to the charger and preconditioning starts automatically.
