How to extend service life
- Replace the cabin filter on time.
- Avoid extended HVAC operation "at maximum".
Why the heating elements burn out (the filter connection)
In the practice of a Minsk shop, the polymer heating elements of the resistive heater fail primarily because of overdue cabin filter replacement: a clogged filter chokes the airflow, the heating elements overheat and burn out, and in the worst case short to the housing — then the car can end up immobilized. The simple takeaway: replacing the filters every 2 years is cheap insurance for the heater. Source: tsk.by
Cost in Belarus
≈ $1 000–1 200 for a new heater and labor. Used parts are not recommended due to the mass-market defect.
