Autopilot and camera calibration after repair

Description

For correct traffic light recognition you need HW 3.0+ and European maps. After body repair or glass replacement, camera calibration is required. Without calibration Autopilot won't work correctly.

Solution

  1. For traffic lights — HW 3.0 minimum + European maps.
  2. Camera calibration after repair — Service Mode is not required: Clear Calibration is available from the regular owner menu (Controls → Service).
  3. Tesla Toolbox is not needed for calibration — the reset is done from the screen (Controls > Service > Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration), then the cameras self-calibrate over 30–40 km. Toolbox is only for region/map changes on US imports and in-depth ADAS diagnostics.
  4. If a shop doesn't run calibration after suspension/body repair — better not to accept the car.
