Model S/X 90 kWh: faster degradation than 85
What is known
- Per owner data and discussions, 90 kWh (built ~2015–2017) often shows noticeable degradation in the first years compared to 85 kWh.
- "Chronic" structural issues (like in early 85s) are fewer in 90s.
Practice: a gentle charge profile (50–80% daily), avoiding long-term storage at 90–100%, and careful DC fast charging will help curb degradation.
